She was lost- hopelessly lost. She walked cautiously through the woods, gripping her white dress in her small hands.
"Where am I?" She asked herself. "It's cold and it looks like it's going to rain."
She wondered around more until the forest opening up to a field. By this time her feet burned as did her stomach from lack of food. She continued to drag on through to try to find shelter from the drizzle that fell upon her. Across the field was a lone house with porch lights beckoning her to come closer. It took her awhile, but she finally made it to the elaborate house.
"Should I knock?" She murmured, tugging on the silver bracelet around her wrist in thought. Hearing the rumble of thunder from behind her she quickly made her decision. Approaching the door, she nervously knocked a few times.
"'Ello?" The man who opened the door moments later questioned. He was tall, with blond wavy hair to his shoulders and blue eyes. He scanned the porch before he heard a small cough from below. Looking down he found the small girl who didn't look more than four or five in a white dress- similar to the one he found America wearing when he first saw him. She was damp, but not soaking and looked up at him with nervous [color] eyes. With a kind smile, he crouched down to her eye level and asked: "What are you doing out in the rain sweetheart?"
"I-I'm lost," She replied softly. "I woke up in the woods this morning and I didn't know what to do so I kept walking."
"Do you know where your parents are?" He questioned.
She shook her head, "I don't have parents…or at least I don't think I do."
His smiled widened, glad that he had been the one to find her instead of a normal human. She was a country and she could only be taken care of by another country. Glancing at her wrist he read the inscription, but found he could not read the language it was written in. "What is your name?"
"[Full Name] the country of [country name]," She replied shyly, still too young to know that under normal circumstances she should never reveal that she was a country.
He lifted her up, bringing her small form into his arms. "I am Francis Bonnefoy the country of France. If you would like you can stay with me and we can figure out where your country is located."
She looked at France nervously, "Will I be a burden to you?"
"Of course not! You are a new country and it is my duty to help you become stronger," He replied, taking her to the kitchen. "Now, would you like to eat?"
"Yes!"

The years went by- France and [Name] had found her country not long after she had arrived at his home. He helped her struggling government and the people who were beginning to inhabit the lands- they were a French territory. [Name] grew quickly from a toddler to a child that appeared ten because of the industrialization of her country. The two had moved from France's country house that he used in the fall and winter to the townhouse he owned in Paris that he inhabited during the spring, summer, and whenever he had a meeting with his boss.

Lately, she noticed slight changes in how France acted. He seemed tired and run down- not even having the energy to play with her like he used to. He worked late nights and slept into the afternoons leaving her to make her own breakfast.
"Papa," She called timidly at the door of his office.
"Oui?" He questioned. He turned in his hair to look at her with a warm but tired smile.
"Are you going to make dinner?" She asked.
"Of course!" He replied, getting up and leading the way to the kitchen. "Sorry, I lost track of time."
She watched him gather ingredients to begin making their meal. She felt her chest tighten, but didn't know what exactly was making her feel like she was going to cry. "I love you Papa."
He looked over his shoulder to smile at her, "I love you too."

She looked around her new home. She looked around 13- a teenager. The home was located right outside of her capital so she could easily talk to her boss when she needed to. She had had talks with her father- France…he was just France now- about when she would become completely independent, but she wasn't ready. This was too much for to handle and all she wanted to do was curl up in his arms and go to sleep.
"Papa…" She began, turning to look at her caretaker. "I'm not ready…I promise to do what I'm told all the time and I won't cause you any trouble and…"
France brought her into his arms, rocking her back and forth a few times. "You have never caused me any trouble, but it you are ready. It's time for you to be the strong country I know you can be." He let her go, kissing her forehead. "I need to go now. Always remember that when you need me I'll be there. And you have Germany! You two have become close over the years."
She had befriended the German country a few years back- going to the home he shared with his brother Prussia when France went to pay his best friend a visit. The two would play for hours until she needed to go home. During one of her visits they had made a promise- an informal treaty they called it- that they would always have each other's back.
"I don't want Germany, I want you!" She whimpered. "Papa I…I can't do this on my own."
France's heart broke at the sight of tears streaming down his daughter's face, but he had to leave. He was no longer her caretaker and she was no longer his territory. The funds weren't there to take care of [country name]. "I need to go now sweetheart. I'll be back soon, alright?"
"No!" She shouted, trying to keep up with his fast paces. "Papa! Papa!" She watched as he smiled one last time at her before getting in his car. "France come back!" She never thought there would be a day where she would call him by his country name. "France don't leave me! You said it was your duty to help me become stronger! I'm not strong enough yet!"
But he was gone- no longer there to protect her. And it was then she realized that she really was more than a territory. She was a country that needed to become stronger in order to protect her people- with or without France's help. She glared down the road with anger and sadness building up inside of her. "You'll see! You'll wish you kept me when you see how strong I am in a few years!"

[Name] woke up in a cold sweat- gasping for air and gripping at the sheets. Chaos, confusion, and anger coursed through her veins and she had no clue why. She started to take deep breaths to calm herself down, but was startled when Prussia threw her door open and turned the lights on.
"You need to come downstairs fast," He said, pulling her out of bed.  He dragged her dizzy form down the stairs and to the living room.
"Hold on," She murmured, trying to come back to her senses. When she finally did she found Germany talking with a young man- at least the age of twenty- dressed in a military uniform. Her eyes widened at the military uniform- it had her country's crest on it. "Are you a former [country name] solider?"
He turned to her and saluted her, "Yes, you are General [Last name], correct?"
"Yes," She replied, standing straight and trying to forget she was standing in her pajamas in front of a soldier from her country that should only see her in her uniform. Prussia and Germany exchanged knowing glances and left the room- going up the stairs to their respective rooms.
"General, I am Private Zackary Jackson from the 5th division and I have been ordered by Major Hathaway to retrieve you to fight on our side," He replied, his right arm still near his forehead.
"At ease," She told him. "Has a rebellion started?"
Zackary nodded, placing his hands behind his back in a sign of respect. "Yes General, it started tonight by civilians and soldiers attacking German towns near the old border.  For the past year we have smuggled weapons in order to stage this rebellion. Major Hathaway said that he has important information to tell you regarding a branch of the military that will help our rebellion become a success."
[Name] quickly processed the information, now wide awake and ready to head out. "Alright, I'll get dressed and meet you in the car."
He nodded turning towards the door. "There's coffee waiting for you in the car."
"Thank you," She replied, heading up the stairs to change. She paused when she passed Germany's room- finding him leaning against his doorframe.
"A rebellion?" He questioned.
Her eyes narrowed, "Were you listening?"
He looked away from her, "No…just a guess."
"Well, I guess I won't be seeing you for a while. Thank you for the help-"
"I'm coming with you," He interrupted. "Ludwig is coming with you."
She paused, looking at him hesitantly, "And what about Germany?"
He smirked lightly at this little game they were playing- dividing his human side and his country side though they were essentially the same thing. "Germany will in Italy for a few weeks." He pushed himself off the door frame. "Remember the promise we made when we were younger?"
She smiled softly, the memory vivid in her mind's eye. She held out her fist, "You have my six?"
"I have your six," He replied, tapping his fist against her. He knew he was going against his country, but he was playing Ludwig right now- Germany would have to go on the back burner for a while.
Yes..Papa!France, I just couldn't help it!!! >.< and I felt like you needed to have a little bit of a character origin story.
Oh and at the end about Germany having your six- in military terms it means he has your back.
OH YAY! A REBELLION!
